BullEx’s HotShot Named "Top Product"

Albany, NY, July 24, 2007 - BullEx Digital Safety’s innovative fire extinguisher training product, the HotShot, has been named a “Top Safety Product of 2007” by Facility Safety Management magazine. Each year, this award is given to innovative products that have a positive impact on the Environmental Health and Safety field. The key attributes that led the judges to choose HotShot were the innovative digital flame technology and training extinguisher, which enables fire extinguisher training without the cost and mess associated with discharging actual fire extinguishers on a live fire.

The HotShot uses an LED panel which simulates flames and responds directly to the trainee’s actions. Sensors on the HotShot interact with BullEx’s SmartExtinguisher™ to detect where the trainee is aiming and sweeping. The HotShot then varies the digital flames accordingly, providing a realistic training experience. The HotShot can simulate class A, B, and C fires at four different difficulty levels, allowing trainees accurate and effective understanding of how to extinguish fires in any situation.

Because the HotShot does not employ real flames, it can be safely used in settings where live fires are not possible such as on aircraft or marine vessels. The digital technology eliminates the need for fuel, making training safer, cleaner and more cost effective.

The HotShot has been used by leading companies, government agencies, and fire departments around the world. It recently won the National Registry for Environmental Professionals’ (NREP) prestigious Environmental Health and Safety award.

“I’m very excited to see HotShot receive these accolades. We knew that HotShot would quickly gain acceptance and market share as it enables fire extinguisher training without live fire or the necessity to discharge and recharge actual extinguishers. This capability allows for training in the actual work environment where employees are likely to experience a fire, instead of in a remote or off-site setting, enhancing the overall training experience.” commented CEO Ryan O’Donnell.
