BullEx offers two live fire extinguisher training systems: the
Intelligent Training System
and I.T.S. Xtreme. Both systems detect where the use aims and
sweeps the compressed air/water SmartExtiguisher and automatically varies the
flames in response. I.T.S. Xtreme adds the capability of using
class A, B, and E props to produce realistic flame patterns, further enhancing
training scenarios.
HOW BULLEX LIVE FIRE TRAINING SYSTEMS WORK
When the trainee squeezes the handle of the "smart" training extinguisher, a
directional ultrasonic signal is emitted from the tip of the training
extinguisher's nozzle. This signal is picked up by the four sensors on the front
of the Intelligent Training System and I.T.S Xtreme
base units. The on-board microprocessor control system determines exactly where
the user is aiming and sweeping. Variable electronic valves constantly adjust
the amount of propane sent to the burners to simulate the fire's response to the
extinguisher
If the trainee aims at the base of the fire, and sweeps the training
extinguisher properly, the flames gradually go out.
If the trainee does not sweep properly the flames will continue to grow.
If the trainee does not sweep all the way across the base of the fire, the
flames will not go out. Only the areas of the fire that were hit with the
traingin extinguisher will be extinguished.
When using props with I.T.S. Xtreme, trainees must properly
aim and sweep the SmartExtinguisher at the prop based on the size and class of
the fire the prop is designed to simulate to properly extinguish the flames.

Xtreme props
The live-fire Intelligent Training System and I.T.S.
Xtreme provide many advantages over the conventional burn pan and
non-intelligent propane burners. Because there is no longer a need to discharge
and recharge costly dry-chemical or CO2 extinguishers, BullEx live-fire
extinguisher training systems are often more cost effective.
